There is no “Housing Crisis” in Maryland, just a $400 Million Dollar Redistribution Scam for “Affordable Housing” - and Republicans are OK with this!
Fox 45 Baltimore this week: MD Comptroller: State’s Population Rapidly Shrinking
Just this past week, the Maryland Comptroller’s office confirmed what many already suspected: sky-high housing costs are driving residents across state lines, and Maryland’s population is shrinking fast. So, tell us again — where’s this supposed “housing crisis”? From where we’re standing, the state seems far more interested in socially engineering “affordable housing” through a $400 million taxpayer-funded redistribution scheme than actually keeping Marylanders in their homes.
If the Moore Administration really wants to make housing “more affordable,” here’s a thought: stop taxing small businesses and working families into oblivion — $2 billion in new taxes and fees over three years isn’t helping. Quit piling regulations on energy providers that have jacked up rates by 1,000% since 2023. Stop overregulating new home construction so prices keep climbing. And for heaven’s sake, stop letting SDAT inflate property values every couple of years, sending property taxes through the roof.
Yes we need "Affordable Housing" in Maryland however what Governor Moore and Housing Secretary Day are doing is straight up redistribution / socialism, which will ultimately make housing in Maryland for the average citizen even more "unaffordable"....
However this week in Annapolis Maryland Housing Secretary Jake Day with MML President Mayor Todd Nock of Pocomoke! Folks like the song says the plan I mean "Scam" is on! On the Streets!
