Marylanders United: Uniting Republicans One Backstab at a Time (Part Three)

With Republicans Like These, Who Needs Democrats?

In Part Two of this three-ring circus called Marylanders United, we dove into the actual records of its members. Spoiler alert: their voting records couldn’t be called “conservative” or Republican with a straight face. Let's be real—no red state would ever claim this bunch as part of their team.

Now, in the grand finale of this series, we’re shining a spotlight on the “other” outliers in this so-called “conservative” comedy troupe. Prepare to see all the weaknesses that explain why they keep losing elections…and members.

Other Players

So, let’s take a gander at the billboard below, funded by Marylanders United. They boldly claim to be “Your Conservative Republican Team.” Well, I went ahead and added their actual lifetime “conservative” records under each name. There, I fixed it for them. Proved the lie.

It’s amusing how David Marks pretends to know nothing about it. Where did they get the photo? Or did they pose together for a different piece? Yet he whispered to me at the polls about Joe Boteler, saying, “Don’t be surprised if things don’t turn out as you think they will.” Clearly, he’s more tangled up in this circle of clowns than he admits. He, or his “successor,” should (and will)  be soundly defeated in 2026.

After this billboard went up, David Marks acted like he knew nothing about it! Yeah, right…..he was directly involved in consulting, and reviewing polls, even telling me that “don’t be surprised if things don’t turn out as you think they will”.

David “I don’t support Dan Cox” Marks

“Weak Men are Vicious Men”— if that doesn’t describe Councilman David Marks perfectly, I don’t know what does. He oversaw and pushed for changes to HIS Councilmanic District lines, to carve out areas unfavorable or distasteful to him, such as Villa Cresta and Towson. I know, because he “tip-toed through the tulips” when I asked him why.

You can always judge a politicians’  position based on how they respond to criticism. Our dear Councilman seems to have a flair for being a  drama-queen Karen, but also using surrogates to do his dirty work, attacking opponents purely on personal levels, and not policy.

Allegedly, he’s even had campaign signs turned into bonfires and has been caught using surrogates to attack candidates, and have other Republican events canceled. But wait, there’s more! His antics have earned him and his former Treasurer, Bradley Lang, special mention in the ongoing investigation of his campaign. I smell an A-Grade cover up, the fumes reaching all the way to the Board of Elections, so stay tuned, folks!

Now, let’s talk endorsements. David Marks proudly flaunts support from left-leaning socialist groups like the Sierra Club, TABCO, and FOP unions. He authored the plastic bag ban in Baltimore County (at the demand of the Sierra Club), played a role in defunding the police, voted for pay and pension hikes, and (by his own admission at the Baltimore County GOP picnic in 2023), the Council is not collecting the required environmental impact fees on developments that THEY HAD LEGISLATED BY THE STATE! Quite the “independent” fellow, isn’t he? Always voting with the Democrats and aiding their elections, while simultaneously attacking other Republicans. Classic Marks. Many constituents I have spoken to are furious when they found out HE was the author of the plastic bag ban, and has lost a lot of support as a result.

And those articles praising his “environmental” record? Surprisingly, the Sierra Club hasn’t raised an eyebrow on Marks’ fence straddling, because they don’t exist. Marks had been chasing their endorsement for years and nearly burst with joy when he finally got it. Quite the environmental champion, dontcha think? But read on…

Master Plan and Climate Change: Marks was criticized for his role in the Baltimore County master plan, which was said to fall short on addressing climate change. During a public hearing, it was pointed out that the plan’s provisions on climate change were weakened, which led to concerns from community members and climate advocates about inadequate stormwater management and increasing precipitation rates in the area .

Controversial Development Project:   Marks faced criticism for his involvement in the LaFarge Quarry Planned Unit Development. Critics, including a former Baltimore County attorney, argued that the development process lacked transparency and was marred by “councilmanic courtesy,” a practice where council members support each other’s projects regardless of their impact.

J. B. Jennings

Jennings record of 2023 gave him a distinct honor of how far can you not only reach over to the other side, but leap over the fence, pitch a tent, and squat during Session while singing Kumbaya to absorb the socialist ideology of the left and vote for close to 50% of Democrat bills. Here is just a sample of his record, with text from the CPAC report on why they approve/oppose them.

SB 5 Strengthening So-Called Hate Crime Laws.

This bill allows defendants to bring a civil action against a plaintiff who has been convicted of a hate crime. CPAC recognizes that the definition of a hate crime is ambiguous and unequally applied to different racial groups, thereby opposes the expansion of hate crime laws, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 17, 2023 by a vote of 45-0 and the bill later became law.

SB 19 Using Equity as a Factor in Maryland’s Transportation Plans.

This bill requires the Department of Transportation to factor equity into its transportation goals. CPAC recognizes that the usage of equity in decision-making processes leads to sexist and racist practices, opposes racism, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on April 10, 2023 by a vote of 35-12 and the bill later became law.

SB 104 Creating DEI Requirements for Maryland’s Apprenticeship and Training Council.

This bill requires that individuals who are Asian, Black and Latino be included on the Apprenticeship and Training Council. CPAC believes that individuals should be selected to be members of such councils based on their merits and not their race and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 13, 2023 by a vote of 47-0 and the bill later became law.

Just peeping at those three bills alone, Jennings has gulped down the Kool-Aid of equity and equality of outcome over quality of outcome. It’s all fun and games until you check the scoreboard in those blue states. Note to J.B.: The DEI industrial complex is what sparked the riots on college campuses, is brainwashing our kids in public schools, has infiltrated the airline industry, and almost got Donald Trump killed.

Conclusion

Ah, the classic ‘you are who you hang out with’ adage rings true for this bunch of phonies and their merry band of supposed ‘conservatives’ and ‘champions of the people.’ They love to talk tough but cuddle up to the opposition like it’s their favorite security blanket. Clearly, they think the key to success is nodding along and scoring minuscule wins that wouldn’t even nudge a hamster wheel. Just look at the last 2 Gubernatorial election results — speaks volumes!

So, as I said at the beginning, with “Republicans” like these, who needs Democrats?
